If you don't feel safe stepping over the side of the tub, we can use a tub cut to reduce the step down to a much lower step for less than $1000. You may instead want to replace your tub with a beautifully tiled roll-in accessible shower or a step-in jetted bathtub with a door. There are also options such as automatic shower controls that set your water temperature and turn the water on with a touch of a button. Shower heads can be rain style, jets from the walls and hand-held wands.
